Smart meter apps showing solar export, hugo, bright & loop?

Just wondering if anyone with solar had tried one of these smartmeter monitoring apps like hugo, bright and loop? You see them on TV. Do they show your export data from the smart meter? Or do you just get consumption?
Thanks

If you get a CAD from bright you get access to the export data for sure.4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0

I use loop shows elect in put in a clear graph unfortunately the new smart meter is not working on gas, no export data but use shelly for that0

Ludicrous really that Loop tries to estimate what impact solar and batteries would have on your usage, but doesn't consider the possibility that you already have such things.
What we really need is real-time monitoring on our local network. So many devices use CT clamps when they should be able to get live data from the HAN.0 -

My smart things hub says it should connect to my IHD but unfortunately EDF have not managed to link the IHD to the smart meter yet so I can't tell you if it will work or what data I will be able to see.
Loop only has import.
When I was with ovo there was some python code I cribbed from github that could download half hourly import and output data, can't remember how near to live the data was available for.I think....0 -
Thank you for the replies. Sounds like its still a rather blurry subject, so I may just have to experiment myself.
The Cad device looks interesting but suggests its only for Smets1? Whereas presumably mine will be smets2. Not sure I'm ready to spend £60 on one of their displays. (My tariff is a little unusual in that I did not qualify for a display sadly, still using two old slightly dodgy owls).
Someone gave the interesting thought that if you give all these apps permission to monitor your data will they ever stop, or will you be sold forever more? I'm not too worried in many ways but it is an interesting thought before I sign up to all the apps...
Hopefully they will open up the protocols one day and it will be easier to connect your own gadgets to smart meters. At the moment you can buy a second hand display but it looks almost impossible to connect it...
Anyway. Thanks.0 -
just a thought if you wanted to leave a app just generate a new api and not tell them0

I ditched my EDF IHD and went with a bright IHD, for 2 reasons
- EDF couldn't fix the IHD not showing gas
- I wanted to access my export live data without adding another ct clamp
So I went with the bright SMETS2 CAD, and I have been really surprised how good it is compared
to the crap IHD EDF supplied. It links in with the bright app on phone really well (updates every ~5 secs)
and I get the data fed into my pi raspberry1 -
Thanks, my edf ihd is not working since install so had not even realised that it won't show export
I think I will have to submit a complaint over the IHD as asking nicely has had no success.I think....0 -
My old EDF IHD did show live export data when it didn't lose connection, but I couldn't access the data remotely or how much I had exported that day It also stopped showing my gas shortly after being installed.
