new flannelette or cotton sheets confusion.

Options
due to an unfortunate accident with some paint! I need to buy some new bedding.
so I figured I would get some flannelette one, as a lot of posters comment on putting these on the bed for winter.
so searching, I get cotton and poly flannel, poly flannel and even cotton flannel.
which ones are the ones I need in your experience and are there any links to good value.?

thank you in advance. :)

  • You want brushed cotton or cotton flannel.

As an example I have a couple of sets of tartan ones from Asda bought a few years ago.

This looks like this years version

I usually wait until a really dreary day in October before putting them on, its very cheering to snuggle up into them :)

Poly and cotton flannel in combination, will dry quicker than cotton flannel. Mentioning as this may be important if you are drying inside, over winter.

    Get non-iron preferably.
  • Seriously tho. When you go into your shop of choice (Dunelm? Boyes if you have one or is that a northern thing..?) see if you can find a ‘lady of a certain age’ and ask for flannelette sheets. She’ll know.

I went through 3 minions when I was after WundaWeb before I found a LOACA, she sorted me out in a New York minute 🙂
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.

It is brushed cotton that you want. They are very lovely. We swopped to ours about 3 weeks ago.

  • There's brushed cotton bedding sets in the Aldi brochure this week.  Buy online from 8am today, in store Thursday 29th.  Looks good.  I've not bought bedding from Aldi, so I don't know how good it is.

I adore microfibre bedding in the winter time . The Cozee Home range from QVC is excellent . It dries very quickly on the line when washed .  Sometimes it's possible to find some on Ebay

I can see our flannelette sheets making an appearance soon - DH has been dropping hints!

Sorry but I hated the cozy home stuff , was like the old bri nylon sheet from my childhood ,really didn’t like them and got rid of a whole set. Flannel sheets/brushed cotton are much nicer and better for temperature control than man made fibres.
