Working from equipment

I am working from home and need a new chair, i have been using a spare chair which is falling apart and also i need a desk as my monitors stand dont fit the desk as its not that wide. They are just about hanging on and have to be angled so not the best position

Can these expenses be claimed back? I have seen you can get upto £2500 by filling in the p87, but would recover all the cost or just 20%

    Are you an employee?
Are these items necessary, solely and exclusively for work?
Does your employer allow you to claim these costs?

If you need them to do your job presumably your employer will reimburse the costs.

If you don't need them to do your job why do you think you would be able to claim tax relief on the costs?
