Tackling sweat stains on clothing

Hopefully the right forum. Couldn't find one more suitable.

Sweat stains, maybe deoderant stains, I don't know. I have this white t-shirt which is relatively new. I've worn it a few times in the last few months. I remember the first time I wore it was when we had that scorchio weather so inevitably pretty sweaty.

Anyway, I've just had it washed at the weekend & noticed the pit areas are yellow.

Now I remember in the past throwing bleach on these things but I've since learned that bleaching can cause yellowing or make it worse, so that's a no-no then.

I had a stain on my white trainers & took bleach to them. Gave it a bit of a rub, it ended up yellowing. Squirted some of that pink stuff on them as seems to be the rage on social media at the moment. Yeah well that was lesson learned - made it worse. Chucked them in the wash thinking that'd sort things - nope. So now I have mostly white with shades of yellow trainers. 
Thankfully they're just gym shoes. Doesn't mean I'm not annoyed by it but at least they're not my daily out & about shoes. 

Wondering if anyone has a good tried & tested way of sorting this rather than experimental ideas?

I have heard that fairy platinum works on sweat stains.

I use washing up liquid for various stains on clothes but haven't worn nice white clothes since having toddlers so haven't been able to try it out for your particular issue.  That would be my first try

Seen on MSN, pulverize 5 x 325ml Aspirin, soak clothes in this before washing. Also, dry outside on a sunny day as sunlight bleaches white cotton.

Or hang it out wet when there’s a good hard frost, that’ll whiten it.

My mum swears by a dishwasher tablet.
I scrape off any white bits and use I think it's called maid simple soap. A quick rub with that and leave for 20 mins and wash as normal. Best way I have found.
