Good morning. It's a sombre morning though a long time coming.
I'm off to wash my hair before settling down to my laptop and TV. BRB.

Morning all; a grey day here.
DH is currently at Heathrow collecting his sister so I'll be popping in the shower soon as I'd better get dressed before they arrive. He left at 5am so both of them might be dozing in front of the tv later on.
I was late for the dress fitting yesterday due to a problem on the M1 but all got done in the end. Still have 72 bags to fill with dried rose petals but I'm sure lovely sister in law will help with that!
Not going to switch on the tv until about 10am as there will be loads of preamble I'm sure.
Take care everyone and hope your day goes well.11 -
My overnight sleep was peaceful and undisturbed
and the grumblings have died down. I'm so thankful! I've washed my hair, put a colours wash on and got my cup of tea ready.
Yesterday, inevitably, the washing didn't dry outside as the drizzle persisted so I brought it in and hung it on the airer. My suitcase got some attention though all the bits and pieces are in a plastic bag waiting to be distributed or stashed. I scooped up all the little toiletries from all four 'planes as they are very useful. Some are to help with sleep (pillow spray) which are lovely. The amenity bag I have sent to my dearest friend as she'll love it more than me.The repair to the damp wall upstairs has been done so well. The house feels so much warmer than before, given that it's an old stone place any 'extra' heat is always welcome especially with the onset of autumn and winter.WL - what a job, at least it's a pleasurable one with a nice scent, hope you enjoy it.I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Monday to all on this sad day.11 -
Morning all chilly this morning but breezy so washing is on the line yesterday we cleared the garden for the winter and today other than watching the funeral will be wall paper stripping blooming wood chip in the dinning room . Not sure what's for dinner i will have a root round the freezer.
Have a good day one and all stay safe and warm xSlava Ukraini9 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Good to hear you are feeling better.
I was up and at 'em early to get organised for a day in front of the tv. The funeral guests asked to enter the Abbey at 8.00 will seem to have an awfully long wait for the service to begin. But they can't do with everyone arriving en masse just before 11.00 can they. I have my victuals for the day all organised so that I don't miss anything. As well as a pack of tissues.
DD said DGD was very quiet and looked very apprehensive and almost tearful at what's ahead when they left her last night. I'm sure she'll settle when she gets to know a few people. It's a big change in their lives. Did all go to plan for your DS COXY?
Have a good day if you can folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or just fed up. Happy woodchip stripping day BELLA. I don't envy you. I remember a room we stripped, it was a nightmare with the paper coming off in postage stamp size pieces. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning all
Overcast and chilly here but at least it is dry for the funeral which is a blessing.
DD and I have been up most of the night with a very poorly big pup, we took her out for a long walk yesterday and about half way she let out a big yelp, we stopped for a while for a drink and she went to sleep which is very unlike her, she managed to walk back to the car but could not jump in I had to lift her, she just went to her bed and slept off and on for the afternoon, dd took her out for a wee before bed and she just lay on the grass and would not come in, this was about midnight so I got up and we managed to get her in between us with a lot of yelping, DD then woke me at 3 to say she was worried as pup was panting and clearly in lots of pain, we phoned the vet who said to give her a paracetamol which seemed to help her and she has slept on and off since, dd and I have had very little sleep, luckily dd has the day off today, I have had to cancel my clients as there is no way I can cope with them on no sleep, we will see how she is later and she can have another tablet if necessary.
Nothing much will get done today, we were supposed to be having a roast tonight but will see how we are, if not it will be something quick.
I shall watch some of the funeral but not all day as I am sure I will fall asleep, the roads here very quiet its a bit spooky !
Have good days all xx10 -

Morning all
I had a lie in and a good chat with DD in Bali - she's in her third hostel now and talking about how she's going to live there one day!
Nice quiet afternoon yesterday and then I went down the hill and had tea with DD and little one - she's always so excited when I go for tea. It was so chilly here as there was no sun all day so when I got home I had a lovely hot bath and then I was nice and cosy with my dressing gown on and little kitten on my knee. It's a bit brighter today so might be a bit warmer.
I'm going to wash my breakfast dishes and make a sandwich for my lunch, have a quick tidy then get comfy in front of the TV.
Redruby - I was just thinking how quiet it is here with no traffic going past. Hope your dog recovers quickly.
Gers - happy to hear you've had a good sleep and are feeling better.
TA - I'm sure your granddaughter will settle quickly. Good luck to her and to Coxy's son.
Blackand gold - hope you get your bags filled - I'd enjoy that job.
Well I'm going to get sorted. Hope everyone has a good day - strange to think we're all going to be doing the same thing today x10 -
Morning
Ruby sorry to hear about big pup hope a day of rest will help
I'm doing much the same as everyone else today. I was up early to sort the washing and the bins then its on with watching the funeral. Such a sad but historical occasion. like TA I have tissues at the ready. I have some prawns out for sandwiches and I may make up a marmalade sandwich for emergencies.
Have peaceful day everyone x12 -
I think the bit where it all really sank in was singing "God save the King" 😥
