Morning all.
Despite my hopes I had another wretched night, it's most odd as I feel perfectly well. If there was anything really nasty going on I'd feel awful so ill keep drinking flat coke.
Yesterday a passing neighbour stopped for a chat and then kindly humped my suitcase upstairs for me. I was very grateful as I contemplating emptying it in stages downstairs where it would have been messy for a while. It's now on the floor in them middle of the empty bedroom and I removed some things.
I filled the bird feeders up and found three bags of grass clippings in the small barn 🙁 which were rather soggy so I loaded them into the car and took them to the tip. Earlier I'd been into town to collect my meds. Most of my day was spent updating my banking spreadsheets which I usually do weekly and at the start of the month. Mind you, it's a task I enjoy.
Coxy & Floss - good decisions.
Today I'll be taking things a bit easy whilst doing some gentle unpacking. I've got a deadline of a week tomorrow when the decorators are due to deal with both bedrooms. There's more to be cleared out so I'll probably have to put some things into the shower cubicle next Monday.
Meanwhile, I hope everyone is doing fine. Good luck to all those DC or DGC going off to uni. I also hope that new babies are thriving.
Happy Sunday to all.

Morning All
Sorry you're still not feeling 100% Gers, the jet lag probably doesn't help.
Dry but fairly dull this morning but the washing can go out anyway - dressing gowns and towels this morning. Bathrooms cleaned.
DS1, his DP and the DGC are arriving sometime this morning then off to DGD's party in the park this afternoon. I'll go along for a while but will come back earlier to put a roast chicken dinner on, I don't have that often so it'll be a treat for all.
Tomorrow one of my oldest friends is coming with her DD who lives in Oz. They used to live here so will catch up with everyone whilst using the house as a base. The children all grew up together, I'll look out my earplugs for tomorrow, they all get very loud!
Hope you're all OK and have a peaceful Sunday. Take care. XX8 -

Morning all. Bright, sunny and chilly here again.
Yesterday's walk was just right and we stopped off at a farm shop for lunch on the way back. DH had a wander round and they were selling huge hunks of their own meat but with no prices on. I'm sure it would have been lovely but my freezer is full so I wasn't tempted.
Today I have ironing to do and possibly some sort of cake to make. After lunch I have to take the 2 remaining bridesmaids dresses and meet DD and her last bridesmaid, who flew in from Spain yesterday, for fittings. The other dress just needs a slight adjustment near the zip. Pretty sure we'll fit in tea and scones afterwards.
Happy Sunday everyone.8 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. I hope you are soon feeling better. It feels a bit milder today thank goodness. Although we had sun most of the day yesterday it felt blooming cold out of it.
Yesterday I had my flu jab as planned at 9.00 and then after picking a few bits up it was back home until lunchtime when we set off traipsing round shop after shop buying more and more stuff DGD decided she really would need! Her boyfriend was dragged along as well and the poor lad really looked as though he would rather be anywhere else!
I finally fell through the door at 6.30 feeling like death. I felt chilled to the bone, ached all over and then started shivering. Then it dawned on me I was probably suffering ill effects of the flu jab. They have never bothered me before other than a slightly tender arm. I dosed myself up and spent the evening under my heated throw trying to get warm. Thankfully I must have slept it off as I feel back to normal this morning.
Not a lot planned for today but a different story for DD who will be trying to ram all the stuff in the car to transport to Trinity. DGD has already got a job lined up to supplement her grant. She had an interview Friday for a couple of shifts serving on in the Uni cafe/bar and got the job! Obviously the shifts she did in her w/e bar job here have stood her in good stead.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or fed up. COXY such a shame you didn't manage to get into Westminster Hall after all. Good luck to you and your DS, when is D Day? Take care all be safe xx

Morning everyone
Bit dull here this morning and feeling chilly. Last night I had little kitten cuddled on top of me to keep me warm. I watched the Vigil and found it very moving. I then caught up on Masterchef as I hadn't seen any of it this week.
More beautiful photos of Bali from DD this morning - she has moved on to another hostel...it looks beautiful.
I dressed little one in a little tartan skirt yesterday - she was very impressed - 'I look just like a Queen's soldier' and spent a while marching about and singing the grand old duke of York. Like most little girls though the skirt was either up under her arms or under her tummy...I kept putting it back round her waist!
Gers I hope you feel better later today.
Bella hope baby starts putting weight on
Izzy enjoy a lazy day - you're always so busy
Camelot enjoy the party and your visitors
I'm going down to sit with dad this morning as mam is going to church. Then a lazy day as I'm shattered and seem to ache everywhere.
Have a good day everyone x9 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here but with a chill in the air, I started yesterday with a runny but blocked up nose, feel ok this morning but nose is still funny !
Mum coming for dinner later, thats if she comes she will often cancel, but I hope she comes as she enjoys the company.
DD working today till 5 so OH and I will get the dogs out for a nice long walk and then back to get the dinner on, I think I will do the pork which we did not have yesterday with some roasted new potatoes and some veg.
Bella I hope Matthew puts some weight on, poor little mite xxx
Gers feel better soon xxx
Good luck to those starting Uni xxx
Have good days all xxx7 -
Hi everyone,
Bella, I hope baby Matthew starts feeding more, it's such a worry, I still remember one horrendous day with Laura who was a sleepy baby and lost a lot of weight. Steve ended up bottle feeding her while she was asleep - she's now 5'11 so it didn't stunt her growth.
TA, best wishes to your DGD on this next chapter of her life.
TA, I had my Covid booster on Friday and was achey yesterday, I also developed a rash which apparently is very common, it wasn't itchy though.
We went over to see Chris, Crystal and Nate yesterday, poor little mite has thrush, which probably accounts for him being unsettled recently, hopefully the medication will sort him out.
Today, Laura and Brian are going to meet friends in London so we will have some time to ourselves, I want to do some sewing and Steve will probably have a round of golf.
Have a good day.6 -
Bella - what a worry for you all, hopefully baby Matthew decides he's more hungry than sleepy soon.Snoozer - poor wee Nate, is he having the liquid medication? I hope he feels better.TA - You're such a great grandmother, so patient!BlackandGold - I seemed to have missed who is getting married and when - can you bring me up to date please?DP1 - I laughed out loud at your DGD - she really sounds a clever wee soul.Ruby - enjoy your walk.Izzy - a meal out is such a treat, even when expensive. Glad you enjoyed it.I've done a washing load and hung it out. Rain isn't forecast but it's drizzling a bit. I want the washing to get the outdoor smell even if it all needs finished off on the airer. I've also been out for more coke, I really don't like fizzy drinks and never have them, apart from fizzy water, but when flat it settles the tummy. Not eating for a day won't do me any harm. There's so much to watch on my TV recording box though I've deleted the MasterChef stuff as I CBA to trawl through them all, the finals will be enough for me. Shetland will keep me occupied and happy.6
