CSA payments on varied wages

Hello, I'm looking for some advice when it come to CSA calculations and affordable payments, my salary varies month to month based on commission I earn and after speaking with CSA on numerous occasions, they calculate what I should pay based on last year's p60. This is frustrating because some months I really struggle financially with every day bills, I suggested calculating the 12% on a month by month basis and making the payments accordingly making it easier for me to budget for everyday living, hope this makes sense, anybody else experiencing the same stressful situation?

Why don't you keep money aside in the better months so your child doesn't lose out in the poor months?

With variable income you should smooth out your spending / cashflow to account for the monthly fluctuations.  You claim that the fluctuations makes it difficult to budget yet your solution is to saddle your ex with the same problem by making their income fluctuate.  You need to sort your cashflow - not lumber your ex with the same problem.

You and your excnagree whatever you want between yoursleves but the CMS isn't goingto adjust .

As others have said, the way to go is to put money aside when you have good months sothat you can afford the maintenace and your own ownsoings in leaner months.

Unfortuanbtely you suggestion pushes the probalem of variability onto your ex, and of course they won't have access to information about how well you are doing wheras presumably you do have a rough idea through the month about what comission you are likely to get.  Ieally you should aim to biuld up some savings that you can dip into at need.
