my mortgage was transfered to kensington in 2022 . to engage credit since the transfer to engage credit i have constantly been reminded that i have fees that is to be paid on the term of my mortgage (we knew that )but they have written out to me today and told me that i get charged additional interest because i have a fees balance . something kensington never thought of mentioning to us that we will be charged additional interest for a fees balance )they state that we can chip away at it at any time which kensington never thought of mentioning to us or we would have repaid it can i bring this up as unfair charges as we were not made aware of any of this with kensington mortgages . any help would be appreciated

@connor08 I don't know when you took out the Kensington mortgage but if you can dig out the mortgage offer and look at the illustration, it should have shown any fees that have been added to the loan. If it doesn't, then you may have a case but I would be surprised if it wasn't shown on it and in the loan size.

With respect to paying it off, if there was an annual fee-free overpayment allowance for the mortgage then that's one way you could have perhaps paid it off penalty free.

  • thank you very much i have spoken to engage they are sending me a fees statement but because engage separate their fees for transparancy so they are sending me a fees statement so that i can see what i have been charged
