I just had a courtesy call from the estate agent I bought a house through to say the vendors solicitor is still waiting on the deeds to come through from Birmingham Midshires. Has anyone delt with them before? It seams to be taking forever

Presumably your own solicitor has experience (not sure there's much Northern Irish expertise around here), so what are they saying?0
