    What do you want the sipp to do? Is it to fund the gap to sp?
     Do the db and sp at 67 give you the required amount of income?

    thanks all , to clarify  I plan to withdraw the 2880+720  from the SIPP  this tax year  . will that come off the £12570 Annual allowance ?
    Depending on the provider, they may not be so happy with you depositing this money each tax year and then withdrawing it all again. Not exactly being a desirable customer to have. 
    It may have been a lot simpler just to have added the £2880 to your main DC pension, assuming it would be OK with that.
