How to cool your bed down?

Hey!

This seems like a bit of an odd place to ask this, so sorry if this isn’t the most suitable!

I’m after some tips to help cool an overly hot mattress? We bought a new one earlier this year, but it’s like sleeping on a hot plate. I really can’t afford to replace the mattress again, but the thought of sleeping on it for the next 10 years…

I sleep under a cotton sheet, which isn’t really warm enough anymore (it’s an odd experience, because the side on the bed is boiling away, while the top side is freezing).

Unfortunately returning it isn’t an option, even though 3 separate sales people assured me the mattress wasn’t the type to overheat - I really did ask!

I have a cooling mattress protector and a Rexbegonia cooling pad from IKEA already.

  • It probably won't make much difference but I saw in dunelm at the weekend that they have cooling sheets.

We've just bought an ice pocket mattress so will see how that goes. My Husband has also recently bought a snow pillow which hasn't been as good as he hoped but has made a difference

  • I wish I had heard of a pocket ice mattress before! I'll have to remember if for next time :)
