  • That's great news regarding the settlement figures offered @cybertortoise! You are well on your way to knocking down the total number of debts now! x

  • Thanks @Squirrelz92 I'm definitely getting there, I've paid off several of my smaller ones recently. I like to keep the paid off ones on my spreadsheet to motivate me with their lovely zero balances :D

Well done on your debt discounts. I love it when we get offered a good F&F settlement, although some of them are still rather high for us at the moment. OH has a small one with Lowell, will have to see what they are offering.

  • Great news on those smaller settlement figures. If they're not on your credit file anymore then there really was nothing to lose by paying them off. Big win for you!
  • So placement is exhausting. And my children have been ill, luckily I could collect my mum so didnt need any days off until I got sick myself :'(
All better now though, so instead of bemoaning the hours I lost I'm going to focus on the hours I can still get.
I haven't been as careful with money as I should have been and also took a few days off work which has completely skint me. We've got food in the freezer though so should be ok for the next couple of weeks. Just need to use a little of the money I do have to get packed lunch stuff for the youngest to take to the childminders over half term, and make sure I keep leftovers for my lunch on placement.

Only £436.13 to pay before the end of the year and I'll finally have my debt under £30k!
  • Hope you're feeling better. I've been feeling pretty rough for a few days as well, seems to be a horrible fly type lurgy going around.

  • Oh @cybertortoise I hope you're all feeling much better now! We had a cold run through our house, one after the other, so I know how you feel.

Fingers crossed you get that £436 paid so you start the new year under £30k! I will be keeping my fingers & toes crossed for you.
  • Thanks @Makingabobor2 I'm feeling a little better now, though the childminder has come down with something so I'm having to miss a couple more days.

Thank you @no1disneymum I should hit my target with just my normal monthly payments in November and December!
  • Have just read your thread and just wondered how much you had put the feelers out in terms of doing sonography training after just one year post-qualification as a rad?
  • HI @slummymummyof3 I've spoken to the uni and they want a year of postgrad experience, the job vacancies i've seen for trainees want 2 years. I'm hoping that if I get the job i've applied for at the hospital where I did my placement I'll get in faster, as i've been worked in the ultrasound dept there as an imaging assistant for a year. Everyone in that dept knows me and knows that's the area I want to go into, I'm hoping that will help. If not I'll have to do the extra year, but it's just extra time to save up :D

I'm now much closer to my target for the end of the year. A debt has been transferred to a new company and they've wiped all the interest as a goodwill gesture. That knocked off £262! Only £68.98 left to pay to get under £30k. And this month's payments are waiting to come out tomorrow.
