Still waiting on deeds after six weeks. Advice please

Options
Hi. After six weeks I am led to believe the seller is still waiting on deeds from my lender would this be correct? My lender requests the deeds from whoever is holding them then they need to be sent to the seller? Before anything else can be completed?

  • Hi the lender doesn’t request any deeds. The sellers solicitor will send the deeds to your solicitor for checking over everything is in order

No. What has led you to believe this?

Maybe I am misreading this or my solicitor has made a typo error....

I’ve just spoken with the solicitors acting for the vendor. They still havn’t received in the title deeds from their Lender.

I asked them to go ahead and send me through whatever documents they have so that we can get things moving.

I’ll let you know as soon as they come in

Read it again. From their lender. Not your lender.

I got it wrong. That's what happens when your not meant to use phone in work
  • So how long can it take for title deeds that are requested from a solicitor to come from the sellers lender?

If the property is in a England or Wales and is registered, the deeds are available from Land Registry.

The property is in northern ireland, the deeds are with the sellers lender and have been requested from the sellers solicitor so the contracts can be drawn up. The house is not part of a chain and is also sitting empty so it's very frustrating. It is seven weeks now since sale agreed
