Rechargeable Vacuum Cleaner

Any thoughts on whether rechargeable vacuum cleaners are good enough to replace a wired one, are they industrial strength yet? How does the power compare to a wired cleaner? How long does one charge last, it normally takes me about two hours to clean the house with our existing cleaner.
I have read about how the Dyson V15 is reputed to be the best but over £400 for a cleaner is excessive. Are there any other manufacturers who produce good quality strong rechargeable cleaners?

Never found one anywhere near as strong as a wired one, my friend had a cordless Dyson, it started losing charge and would only run for 15 minutes. When she complained to Dyson they told her that they are not designed to be used as the primary cleaner and we’re only designed for the odd clean up !!My friend loves her Shark but again not great suction. I will be amazed if you find one with 2 hours run time to be honest too.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Hi, I agree with sarah1972 above.
I've tried two of the cordless ones at different times, not wanting to be a wimp and give up but found them such a faff. One of them, a G-tech with the charger in the handle, was so cumbersome and heavy it made my wrists ache! Strange but true.
I couldn't get on with either of the cordless ones and so gave up and now I have a Vax corded vac instead. It's much better.
When I think back to the 'olden days' of vacuuming, a Hoover was one of the best vacuums you could buy but to be honest I don't think they are quite such good quality any more. I certainly would be very reluctant to spend £400 on any vacuum cleaner.
Two hours to vacuum a house, though? That seems a long time - unless of course it's a very big house. I don't vacuum as often as recommended, I vacuum to suit me and my family and we are still hearty and healthy. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Sounds like this is going to be selecting the least worst option: what about the Vax Blade 4, anyone got experience of one of these?
