I personally think it should take longer it would be sad not to see the queens face on our money0

certainly the coins will continue to be around for many years - used to love getting old coins and seeing if I could get a penny from each year1

I know it sounds daft but notes and coins where one of my first thoughts.
I guess the King will play a big role in this. Will he push through and insist on a quick change or will he read the room, understand the economy and his subjects are struggling and publicly state he has no desire to hurry through a change.
A sentiment such as don't worry about changing the currency, do that when my son takes over'
Could go a long way.1 -
Whilst this might be the MSE site we need not worry overmuch: If Victorian coins were being used 110 years after being minted I doubt we need fret too much about coins which are less than 50 years old.
As it is some 'paper' money is being phased out this month anyway.
I guess a touch of perspective is needed.......
Even some postage stamps aren't changing- these are commemorative ones and having already been approved by The Queen will go ahead and be released.
The wheels of some govt departments grind exceedingly slow! Could be that the royal mint might be one such.
the pound in your pocket is still worth... not a lot these days!!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I did think that when I wrote my piece.
Then I thought, if he just comes out at says it there wouldn't me much the ROYAL mint could do about it and would need to follow his lead.0 -
Considering how environmentally aware he is I don't think he would scrapping current money just for the sake of vanity. I don't think he's the type of man to stamp his feet because his head isn't on a £5 note
They were discussing post boxes on the TV at the weekend and it was said we still have post boxes more than 100 years old with multiple monarchs so there is no plan to replace any existing ones, new ones in the future will carry King Charles III cypher on themLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin2
