Back dating tax claims.

Good Morning.

I'm looking for advice regarding claiming for things missed off previous years self assessments.
I'm ready to submit the 2021-22 self assessment but am not sure if there is a way of adding the backdated items on this or if I have to (some how!) do separate claims.

The previous items are:
2020-21 - uniform cleaning
2019-20 - uniform cleaning
2018-19 - uniform cleaning (only part of year) and mileage claim.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Comments

  • You cannot include them on the 2021:22 return.

You can amend your 2020:21 return but too late for the earlier years.

You would have to make "overpayment relief" claims for the earliest two.

Gov.uk has details of what's required.
