Hotpoint under counter freezer

Can anyone tell me what to do with my freezer? It's under counter with the required spaces around it. It gathers water on the outside top which drips down to the floor. I didn't know this till my wooden floor started swelling up!  I know about the condensation slide button on it, this hasn't helped at all.
Any ideas??
Thanks

Possible failure of the insulation, temperature set too low, thermostat failure. I’m not a refrigeration engineer, but I suffered enough fridge and freezer failures to be convinced that cheap Italian goods are not the way to go. Chuck it, spend an extra few quid for a decent make.
  • Thanks for the reply.  I assumed Hotpoint WAS a good reputable make!! The thermostat is automatic (can't adjust it) so I can't control the temperature. On looking out the manual I've discovered that it is 21 years old - so I'd say that the Hotpoint make has served me well??

At 21 years old it's probably far less energy efficient than the modern ones - and with the cost of leccy what it is, replacing it is a good shout. Quite happy with hotpoint myself, too.

I have a hotpoint fridge freezer that spent two years in a conservatory - so blistering hot direct sunlight in summer, then plunged into coldness in winter. Still going strong in a more appropriate room.

21 years ago it was a reputable make, now it’s part of The Electrolux/Zanussi umbrella. It has served well for 21 years, probably time for retirement.
