In partnership with our friends at Curtis Brown Creative, the renowned writing school ran by the Curtis Brown literary and talent agency, we are offering two readers the chance to release their inner wordsmith.

Curtis Brown Creative have been helping writers tell their stories since 2011, with courses online and in London. Many of their students have gone on to become commercially published authors, including Kirsty Capes – the 2021 Women’s Prize for Fiction longlisted author of Careless and Bonnie Garmus – author of the international bestseller Lessons in Chemistry, which is currently being adapted into an Apple TV+ drama series starring, and executive produced by Academy Award winner Brie Larson.

One lucky winner will receive two places on the five-week online ‘Inside Story’ writing course of their choice, for themselves and a friend (worth £660). The Creative Writing School has a range of courses to help you tell your story at your pace, and whether you have a burning desire to write a whodunit, pen a romance novel or period drama, you will hone your tone of voice, work on characters, the story outline (and all important ending) before you start writing your first draft.

Sounds exciting, right? The online course requires weekly commitment and homework (hey, books don’t write themselves), And you’ll be invited to upload your completed writing tasks, give and receive feedback, and discuss weekly topics with fellow students on Curtis Brown Creative’s private online Learning Platform.

There are three courses to choose from, led by David Nicholls (author of One Day, The Understudy, Sweet Sorrow, Us), Marian Keyes (author of Rachel’s Holiday, The Break, Grown Ups) or Tessa Hadley (author of Bad Dreams, The Past, Free Love), which consist of exclusive teaching videos from your favourite author – plus, accompanying teaching notes and weekly writing tasks.

By the end of the course, you and your buddy will each receive a 500-word end-of-course written report on the opening 3,000 words novel from one of Curtis Brown Creative’s expert fiction editors.
