I won the £500 asda rewards competition on Downtown Radio, but it got cancelled because they're in 'obit mode' and they've cancelled all the comps. Oh well, I nearly won

I'm just glad it wasn't a life changing win! Although £500 is not to be sniffed at

I know I may be seen as insensitive by some, but if I were you I would consider sending an email explaining the disappointment that this has caused you, especially with the cost of living crisis currently going on. Perhaps you don't 'need' it, and that's fair enough, but if it were me I would be very upset.

I do understand why they have cancelled further competitions, but if you've already been informed you've won, it seems very cruel and insensitive to take it away

I don't think that would make much difference, to be honest
 

Due to the sad news about The Queen passing away we are entering a period called Obit. With immediate effect, Bauer Media are suspending all airtime and branded content, reflecting the mood of the nation, including the Asda Competition you entered. This means until further notice that the Asda Rewards competition has been paused.   

 

At the moment we have no information when or if this competition will return. If we look to run this at a later, more appropriate date, then we will contact you.

Good news! They recontacted me, and gave me the prize again! Thanks to whoever it was who posted. It's been that long ago I've forgotten who it was
