Morning
Sad news yesterday - RIP Ma'am x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, damp underfoot, have had some rain during the night, rain forecast for today - we'll see.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was fish, chips/rice - I had salad with some chicken all enjoyed.
All the normal chores to be done today, food shopping, cleaning etc.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
The weather reflects the sombre mood of the nation. Such sad news, we will miss your big smile Ma'am, thanks for your leadership. I must admit I did shed a tear. My poor Aunt is devastated, she is a big Royalist and has been to all the royal weddings, funerals and celebrations.
Take care. XX10 -

Morning everyone
I think the pouring rain reflects the country's sadness this morning
Bellabella - hope your DD is ok and her blood pressure can be kept down. My DD had pre eclampsia - little one had to be born so early to save her mummy.
At work all day today - I'm shattered already and I've only done 2 half days!

Afternoon / morning all. It's just after 5pm here and very very rainy. I was woken at about 4am by a text from a friend back home with news of the Queen's illness. By the time I turned on the TV it was to learn that she has died. It was so fast in the end, and so very sad. It'll all be a bit odd now that she's gone. 🙁
BELLA - I'll be thinking of your DD2 and the new little one and send hugs.My SIL and I have been out all day, firstly meeting my far-distant cousins and then for lunch with our friends from Melbourne. We all got a little lost but came across a lovely Mediterranean cafe with a French owner so the food was really tasty. SIL's cousin and her partner arrived this morning too. It's still all go here. I'm just having a short break and watching Oz TV before the evening starts. As you can expect it's wall-to-wall coverage of our late Queen. Mind you, the 96 gun salute, with 10 seconds between each one is a tad tedious!I hope that everyone is doing OK. Have a happy if sombre Friday. 🌺10 -
A sad day for us all, and it reminds everyone of their own mortality I think, and reminds us all of loved ones who have passed. Her children will be grieving the loss not just of a Queen, but of their Mother, and grandmother and no matter what age you are a mother's loss is so vary hard.
Today we woke with a new King, and it feels very strange to say that. But as we always do in the UK we pull together as a family and mourn the passing of an amazing lady who put her country and duty first at all times.
So lets not be too sad that we have lost her but glad we lived through some fsntastic times and have some great memories, not only of our monarch but of our own family and friends as death is something no one can avoid.
God bless you all ,we will get through the coming days ,hopefully with the same fortitude that she had throughout her long life

Strangely my neice and great nephew had been here on Wednesday night and DN had given me a Teddy bear that had been made using one of my Ddad jumpers I was cuddling my Teddy last night when the news came through
Ddad had cooked for the Queen when he was in the forces and had great respect for all the Royal family
