Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, damp underfoot, have had some rain during the night, rain forecast for today - we'll see.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner was ham, egg, jacket potato, cheese, beans, pork pie (menfolk) and salad. Tonight maybe fish for the menfolk. I'll have a dig in the freezer as it's full but I'm not sure what with if I dig about!
Work was ok yesterday, full day today as I've been asked to stay about later to cover as we have no staff.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
Raining hard here - really glad that I'm WFH today but poor DH is schlepping it to Birmingham! We painted the hallway and landing walls last night, finishing at 10.30pm. Lots of up and down the ladder, so I feel like I've done a workout. I will do a second coat on the hallway walls tonight and we will finish the landing off on Sunday, as we're at the cinema tomorrow and it's my birthday on Saturday.
The salmon and pea pasta last night was lush. There's a portion left for lunch so expect DS2 will have that as he ate out last night. No waste here. I will do SW Szechuan pork and noodles tonight.
We have washing to do but I will leave it until tomorrow as it's meant to be dry in until 3pm. Don't really want wet washing inside if I can help it. Ironing basket also looking pretty full, so may tackle that tonight once the painting is done.
Well done on shifting the table and chairs from DMum's @Nelski but it's disappointing that BHF were so picky over the other furniture. Are there other charities you could try? Can your brother help at all - he seems to be MIA.
Hope you get some news of the MRI soon @RedRuby1231
Did you manage to keep tabs on DDad @nannywindow?! TM sounds dangerously expensive, a bit like Downtown on the A1 - shoppers paradise.
Have a good day everyone and hugs to all those in need of one.

Morning everyone thanks for the start NMLC we have a damp morning here but we had lots of lightning last night lit the place up but no rain kitchen is coming along everything still in boxes in the dining room but I might get a couple emptied tonight hopefully. I have refused to kill my self at work so the bosses wife has helped this week there isn’t a inch of floor space to walk around for bags of laundry as well as the dry cleaning that has to be done she couldn’t carry on any longer on Wednesday and announced that she is going to buy some rollers as some of the heavy super king quilt covers were bigger than her and far to heavy to lift to which I said I know we will see if it comes off .the man that is doing some repairs to my roof has asked if he can come today instead of next week it’s just a few broken slates at least I know we will be water tight for the winter and gas boiler is getting serviced Tuesday I will be skint but safe after all this .thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7

Morning all. Sunny but cool here so far; Autumn has definitely arrived.
Yesterday we got lots of bits done around the house such as washing and packing away DGS's water table from the garden, sorting out some birthday presents etc and we ended up with lots of large cardboard boxes and other bits of random rubbish. DH was lucky enough to get a Tip slot for 7pm so he popped all the junk down there but the garage doesn't look any emptier.
I met up with some of the other Community Larder volunteers for a drink in town in the evening, which was very successful. Our first social get together and people are talking about doing another one nearer to Christmas.
Today I need to make a gluten free chocolate cake as we're staying with friends for the weekend and I always take a cake with me. This one is topped with Crunchie bars so could be a bit messy to cut!
Have a good day everyone.8 -
Morning all
Pouring with rain here and set in for the day, I am collecting my private client today and will take him to my old work so at least we will be dry ! Yesterday my one client did not turn up as he was poorly, I still get paid so I had a lovely day to myself and took the dogs out for a good long walk.
Dinner tonight will be something with mince maybe a spag bol or a chilli. DW has been emptied this morning and I have put a wash on which will have to dry in the conservatory.
I cant wait to have the fire on in the evenings as the washing dries overnight then but its still far too warm, I am still sleeping under a thin blanket atm.
Have good days all xxx7 -
Morning everyone
Had a lovely sit out in the sun reading yesterday afternoon and tidied the plants a bit.
Dull and foggy this morning and showers forecast all day. Not at work till lunchtime today so just going to potter and do a few jobs this morning.
Izzybee and Coxy - you exhaust me! How did you make your salmon and pea pasta?
Eldest DD is off on holiday to Bali tonight...she's very excited. Her first flight is 12 hours from Munich to Singapore, then she has an 8 hour stopover then another 2 hour flight. She'll be 7 hours ahead of us so I'll be confused!
Well better get on. Hope everyone has a good day x7 -
Evening / morning all. It's almost 7pm here and very dark, sunset is awfully early and just seems to arrive, no what I'd call 'gloaming'.It's been a busy though lovely day. First of all my nephew took his two youngest children to playgroup where parents stay and 'play' too. Before he left he came down to my cabin with the littlest one - aged two - she gave me a really lovely hug because I liked her 'princess' frock. 😀
My SIL and I went off to Noosa Heads to meet up with the friend we talk to every Friday, and her friend who I've never met. I'm always astounded to realise that my SIL and Margaret met 41 years ago, surely I'm not that old?? 😱
After a good time together SIL and I left, picking up pizzas for nephew and children and a bottle of wine for me. I'm now ensconced in my wee cabin about to eat some very tasty cous cous (a first for me) with a chilled glass of wine.
Tomorrow I'm meeting up with a far-distant relation in Cooroy, even though I have no idea why he wants to meet. Then back to Noosa Heads to collect the other two. Meanwhile my SIL's. cousin and partner are arriving at breakfast time, a more controlled chaos than before.
Coxy, well done on the painting.
Nelski, I found that BHF were very picky too but they do know their market. I eventually used a house clearance company which took everything I offered - they had access to different charities so could use almost all I gave them.
Snoozer, I hope that all goes well tomorrow.
Nan, enjoy your break.
Izzy, keep on looking after yourself.Hugs to all. Happy Thursday to everyone.6 -
Morning all, it's raining cats and dogs here. Yesterday was a bit stressful as soon as we got in the shop, I only went to get a basket and Mr Fix It had gone to the left and Dad right, it was like trying to herd cats! I decided to play them at their own game and have a look around by myself....... they soon came looking for me 😂 I walked over 3 miles around that shop and don't my legs know it today!
Today I have to pop up Dad's to check the dates on his meds as he doesn't know if he's received his last lot, either he's off his trolley or I am, I'm doubting myself as to when I ordered them now even though it's on the calendar. Later I'll sort out our clothes for holidays, think we'll need warmer ones this time.
Coxy luckily there were no accidents, but he did have his eye on the motorbikes this time! 🤣
Hope everyone has a good day.
Take care all

Afternoon All
Sorry I've been MIA, I've been getting the early bus to work as we have an improvement visit at school (a bit like an inspection) so it's been absolutely manic!
The young offender apologised but obviously didn't mean it, I've been getting verbal threats from him every time he walks past me. I've now refused to go out in the playground when he's there. It's awful, I've never felt intimidated in my workplace before, especially not with a 10 year old child.
When I was at DS2's he gave me a pair of wireless headphones to use, an absolute game changer when I go on the bus, the noise of the bus itself is reduced and I'm enjoying listening to 'Desert Island Discs'!
Sounds like an interesting day yesterday Nanny, you're a saint.
Keep plodding on Nelski, it'll be done soon.
Hope you get good hospital results Ruby. I ordered coal for the fire yesterday, it's gone up to £28 per bag, it was £20.50 in April.
Loving your holiday diary Gers!
You are certainly super decorators Coxy, you'll be turning professional soon!
Look after yourselves, take care. XX

Afternoon all, late one from me, I've been shopping at Al di , DH dropped me then went round for his physio, I just have enough time to do a biggish shop before he comes back. When I went out to the car park DS2 was there talking to him
, he'd just been looking at a job. It was fairly quiet in the sm, but lots of empty shelves as the fridges went down apparently and they had to move stuff around. Then we went to a Mr.S nearby, well Argos really to pick up some new landline phones as the old ones are shot at. We still need a landline as we don't have a good signal round here. I got the Greek yogurt I couldn't get at A & a couple of other bits.
Next doors bin is almost full ( she loaned me the use of it while they're away for 3 weeks) so the bedroom is looking a bit tidier, still plenty to do yet though. Nels hope you find another place to take stuff from Mums. Safe journey Snoozer..
Right better go and have another coffee, take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)6 -
Afternoon all,
Being at home is great, although challenging when I try to do too much up and down to my bedroom, knee was sore yesterday so have taken it easy today, luckily OH is happy to cook, as it would be beyond me to stand at the cooker. Carer gave me a shower this morning so am feeling quite human! My biggest problem is my hair, have not had it cut since DD4 shaved my head in February of last year.... It took ages to start growing and is now a misshapen mess.
Hugs to all in need or want of one.
