Help to get student discount for bus travel to and from college ?
Correct.... until you put Milton Keynes or Bedford as the location, then it shows this...
So I rang Stage Coach who were no help what so ever. They said they dont offer student discount, it has to be done through the college who have a maximum income of £30k to be eligible.
Or if you can find them on Twitter or Facebook a short factual post might get a response. Anecdotally businesses are keen to respond to such publically visible comments.
Have you asked the bus company if they do any saver tickets for travelling weekly/monthly rather than one aimed at a student? I agree that the issue is likely to be crossing towns and they don't offer a student discount based on that because not that many fall into those circs.
I sympathise, my daughter went completely out of county for sixth form requiring 3 lots of transport each way. We were just fortunate that her student discount for our town was based on our home address. The city her college was in based it on whether she studied there and inbetween she had to catch the train and we were fortunate the 16-17 saver railcard came out, which gives 50% off train fares. That's my other sugggestion can the jouney be made by train instead of bus?
