Good to set clear goals - then you are more likely to achieve them

  • Thanks @savingholmes 😊

Inventory done and posted - I have a ridiculous amount of food! 😳😂 I'm determined to keep the grocery spends down for the next 12 months though so by the time I get to posting the 2024 challenge I should have a lot less stock!

I made some lentil pancakes yesterday which I stuffed with leftover pasta sauce - they were very nice and are a dish that I can make regularly (with a variety of fillings) and will help reduce my red lentil mountain!

I'm making a list over the weekend with a variety of dishes using certain ingredients as their main constituents- I've got a few ideas but need a lot more; especially for dark speckled lentils and buckwheat! 😂

My five daily observances are going well - asana practice, meditation, nature and self care are definitely a daily thing - the purity thing needs a bit more work but it's very close! I really am feeling a lot better for them both mentally and physically so I can't see me abandoning them - I'm looking forward to seeing how I feel after a full year of them 😁

I realised that I made an error on the BB funds - my plan is roughly £250 a month on general spends which means that the BB fund needs to be £600 not £500 (I'm aiming for a maximum annual spend of £3600) so I have altered and updated my signature accordingly. I'm keeping it as an annual target this year as costs can fluctuate depending on months I have family visits.

The money that I was expecting to arrive today hasn't arrived- I'd forgotten that its a bank holiday today so I'm sure that it will turn up tomorrow. Due to my BB fund miscalculation I've decided that I will refresh my slush fund then any remaining amount will be paid into the BB fund for 2024.

Anyway, its time to sort my seeds so I'd better get on with that!

  • Slush fund replenished and 2024 BB fund increased! 😁

Did the seed inventory yesterday, also wrote the growing plan for the year so have listed all the sowing and harvesting times for all the produce - it took a considerable period of time but definitely time well spent!

I'm feeling pretty organised now with the inventories completed - I've had a quick mooch at a variety of recipes to use up my stock but I'll need to spend more time on it and make a list. I was going to do that today but dd has invited us over to her house to do a 'celebration part 2' as she was unwell on chrimbo day so we only stayed for an hour. I'm really looking forward to seeing my grandbaby- he stayed with me for the majority of last week and I'm really missing him!

We've got a couple of things to do before we go today - we have visitors next week so I need to wash and dry the bedding and sort some space in the spare wardrobe in case they want to use drawers and hangers. We also have a picture to hang and I may take down the solstice deccies too - I don't like them being up too long!

Time to try to get some sleep- I've got a cold and am struggling with it! 🤦‍♀️

great idea on a set day each month for regular household tasks - I'm going to copy that (hope that's ok with you)

  • Thanks @savingholmes and @Blackcats 😁

I've decided to begin a new diary for 2023 despite this one being reasonably new. The last few months of this year have been very traumatic due to bereavements and unexpected costs as a result and it feels that it is been fairly negative - crazy as it sounds, I don't want to carry any of that negativity with me so a new diary seems like a good way of leaving it behind!
