Do people still use these?
I find the poultry 0.5% barely worth my time when buying from some places.

Use Quidco. Offers seem to be far less than they used to be and many sites restricting wha they offer one as opposed to a blanket percentage on purchases.

I buy online quite often and it all adds up - an extra £1-2 per month is £12-24 per year, for not very much effort. It may still not be worth the faff for many people, but I certainly find it worthwhile. Thanks to browser extensions I don't even have to actively remember to use them.
That's not even counting the occasional boosts/promos that come up, and money for taking out free trials.
I no longer check the forums as regularly as I used to. If you wish to catch my attention please remember to tag me (@ircE) so I get a notification.

I still use it. Very unreliable even though I use the browser extension to confirm cashback.
Notable that high % payouts on large purchases often fail. Just had one for for about £25 refused.
Some retailers are very poor or very slow at payout.
Bottom line - DON'T RELY ON IT

  • I use topcashback most with the chrome plugin.

Just go to the website as normal and then a pop up appears and click it to track, I now track and claim almost everything as takes a 1 second click.

killerferret - I use the firefox extension/plugin but doesn't guarantee payout.

I use it when I'm buying something from a listed store anyway. It doesn't cost me anything in time / effort to go through the site and even 0.5% is better than nothing.

I fought with Ernest Jones about my wedding rings (£1250 purchase for both our rings) as they had a 5% cashback deal on at the time we bought them and it tracked correctly, neither item was in the sale or an excluded category and they weren't returned or anything. It took over a year for TCB to sort it out but to their credit it did eventually get solved, and I did get my money.

Was referred to AA breakdown offer on TopCashback - £175 back on buying the whole nine-yards of cover which I think ran out at about £260? My renewal was due elsewhere with another organisation at that time, so took the plunge. That was in July, cashback finally came through last week, so had to wait nearly 4 months. This seems to be the exception to the rule as a few other deals I’ve had paid out within a month.
