PRA Group Harassing

Hi All,
After some advice, if you don't mind. I have an old debt that I believe to be statute barred. The original creditor was Quick Quid but I understand they actually dissolved and the debt is not showing anywhere on my credit files with QQ or with PRA. However, I believe the debt is from 2015 and no payments were made. To clarify, this isn't me trying to get out of paying debts but I was young and stupid at one point and I am currently trying to focus on clearing all debt for all accounts that are actually on my credit report.
The PRA Group are constantly sending emails about this debt. I am not 100% certain on the age of this debt and they don't ever send me letters. Would you recommend sending them a letter advising that I believe it is statute-barred?
I could be wrong and just out on my timings but then I know it's not unheard of. They did this previously and long story short the original lender had to pay me compensation. Is it best to just block/ignore the emails or should I send them the letter stating I don't acknowledge the debt and they should stop contacting me?
Any help would be appreciated.

If you aren't 100% that it is stature barred then I would suggest talking to National Debtline.

If it does not show on any of the credit reference agency files, then it`s is more than likely over 6 years old, as accounts only show for 6 years.
And if, as you say, you haven`t made any payments to this debt, then it`s reasonable to assume it will be statute barred by now.
Remember, PRA Group can still obtain a judgement against you, if they issue proceedings, and you fail to defend the claim.
I would be tempted to send the PROVIT letter, as this does not acknowledge any liability, see what they come back to you with, if anything, then dependant on what they tell you, you could then send the statute barred letter, just don`t ignore it as they have bothered to write to you, the next letter could be a court claim.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. PRA are chasing a debt that was paid five years ago. Proof sent at time of payment. They chased proof last December and proof was sent and they are now chasing the debt again. I have told them I have paid it and they want proof. I now have to go through 5 years of bank statements to find payment. Why didn’t they say they hadn’t received proof of payment five years ago and last December and I would have emailed it again. I suspect they enjoy hounding people. I have told them to cease and desist contact with me. They say they will when I send proof. I have contacted Financial Ombudsman and will let them deal with this company.0

Make an complaint official to them, the FOS won`t get involved until you have exhausted the companies own complaints process.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
