Larger Crockpots may have a light but this was what everyone commented about- plus Curry's own brand a tad cheaper. pretty sure it came with free delivery.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Waxing a bike chain? I put lube on mine but I’m a novice at bike maintenance, why would I use wax especially as it sounds a whole lot more complicated.0

we recently bought a new slowcooker on amazon from the warehouse (used but good condition and with a 10 voucher from surveys and they had a 20% discount that i think is still on until tomorrow so i think it cost us less than 10 in total).

nothing really wrong with the old one (it had good reviews and everything) but the old one had a metal bowl and i just couldn't get on with it. the replacement is a more or less identical one but with a ceramic bowl. gave the old one a good wash earlier and this weekend we'll put it on the olio app for someone to collect if they can use it.
i don't use it as much as my remoska but i use it often enough that it's not worth having one that just doesn't work for how we want to use it.
Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.0 -

I haven't used it yet. I've only seen numerous videos and read various articles on its use. I currently use Smoove lube.
If they're to be believed then it is a clean lube. People rubbing their chains after a fair few miles and it's just clean.
Maybe I put too much lube on but when I look at mine, it's black and the jockey wheels are gunked up with build up.
It's also supposed to be quite quiet. All in all it's probably more faffy. Having to take the chain off and mess around melting wax vs just giving it a scrub and squirt.
Like I said, I haven't tried it yet & if I do it may turn out to be not something I'd want to repeat but those that do it seem to rate it.1 -
Bobby, if you are going to have a go at rice pudding in the slow cooker, here's the recipe I've used a few times now - has always turned out well!

I personally add a bit more sugar, and you can swap out some of the milk for cream as long as you have 2pts in total. I've even made it with almond milk and coconut milk and it's worked out just the same. Very easy!Make £2025 in 2025 total £241.75/£20254 -
Thanks MoonChild.
Currently got sausage casserole on the go. Less water than last time. Not sure I should've put veg on top rather than bottom.
Thought of this thread the other day. Not fussed to go find the post but someone asked what happens when my wife is ill (as in do I bother cooking).
Well Thursday I came through to find her hunched over the sink. I asked what the matter was & she felt like she was going to be sick but she was trying to still make my tea even though she was too unwell to have anything.
So I said well you better hurry up and get that tea cooked before you're sick thenSee, told you I thought of this thread.
* For those who can't spot obvious sarcasm, no I didn't say that. Told her not to be so daft trying to make my tea when she's not well. I got it made no problem. Bit of a no brainer.0 -
