Royal London GRIP 3 Pension Fund.

I have my main DC pension invested in a Royal London Governed Retirement Income Portfolio - GRIP 3. I am 68 years old and currently have no plans to draw against this pension pot for income. This was not my original plan when I started investing in this fund, but other investments and cash are providing enough income to cover all living expenses with funds spare for the tougher times ahead as well as the fun times.

I know we cannot tell if we may need care home funds in the future, but I am hoping that I could perhaps leave this Royal London pension as part of my estate for my children outside of the IHT allowance.

Looking at this particular fund there are a high percentage of Gilts and Bonds which are currently accounting for all its current losses. I was hoping that someone with a similar scenario might offer any thoughts on a different investment model to look at if I do not need it to produce income? I could move to a fund with a higher percentages in equities but would like to keep a diverse range of investments within a single fund. Appreciate any thoughts.

RL have their governed portfolio range you could switch to or you can move up the risk scale on the Governed retirement income range.  The latter doesn't go as far up the risk scale as the former but there is some overlap at certain risk levels.

Thanks Dunstonh, I really appreciate your input. That was my thought process, I am currently doing the comparisons and breakdown between their various options to see where I would be comfortable. Thanks again.
