Teeth Whitening and uneven teeth

I was hoping for some experiences regarding tooth whitening that my dentist is advising me to take.
My teeth are discoloured after years of redwine, coffee and anything else that colours them, but I also have two teeth that are pushed back behind the other teeth and very noticeable and I've never been able to feel confident smiling and hate how They look.
I trust my dentist to give me good advice as he is a good friend and I approached him about thinking about clear braces to fix these but it is a very high cost and sadly the orthodontist I would be referred to does not have a payment plan so I would have to save.
Sadly, turning 40, railroad track braces and also the industry I work in wouldn't be the best so clear would be the best option and veneers are not possible as my teeth are pushed back behind my other teeth they overlap and veneering could cause bacteria issues.
However, he highly recommends whitening to help with the noticeable unevenness. He claims that whitening helps balance out uneven teeth and much cheaper than straightening. It is not a miracle worker but is worth while.
I was hoping for anyone who had uneven teeth or even those in dentistry to maybe confirm this. It is still a high cost to get this done but far cheaper than clear braces si it would be something I could afford at the moment.
Thanks x

Obviously, he can see you and I can't, but the advice sounds very sensible. If someone has a bit of a downer on their teeth, then whitening is a straightforward and pretty safe (when done properly via a dentist) way of cheering things up and making a quick, noticeable improvement. In the same way that decorating your lounge might just make you put off the feeling of wanting to move house, whitening your teeth might just make you feel a lot better about them too!Clear aligners are an expensive way to get teeth moved around, and it's generally not the quickest, or best way to get things done.I'm glad your dentist has talked about referring you to an orthodontist to get the options available to you - as a proper orthodontist will be able to give you the full range of options along with their pros & cons. Dentists just trained in clear aligners tend to be a bit over confident in what their particular system can achieve. Also, avoid the aligners places where no dentist is involved at all. The places you see advertised on TV sometimes and have 'pop up' scanner 'events' then they mail you your aligners. There are more and more adults having orthodontics these days, so even if no one else in your workplace seems to have 'train track' type braces, a lot of people in your workplace would know others that have them.Good luck with it.How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.1
