Last paycheck tax question

Hey
i will be leaving my job on the last day of October so I will get full pay for October (around 7000£ before tax) and also payment for around 20 day off that I didn’t use.

My question is does it make more sense that my last day will be let’s say November 4th, and that way instead of getting massive pay in October I will get normal pay and than another paycheck for November with 3-4 working days and the payment for the days off.

I prefer to pay less tax now than paying more and than claiming back..

hope it’s clear :)

thanks!

  • Tax months go from the 6th to the 5th of the following month.

Would you employer change their process to make an additional payment.

Without exact figures it is impossible to be precise but having the payment spread over two pay periods might increase the national  insurance paid.
