buying refurbished laptop / laptops direct

hi,  i am thinking getting a new laptop as mine is becoming a bit slow now at times.
i have seen a refurbished laptop on laptops direct,  it has good specs and is much less than what it would be new.
firstly,   i want to know if anybody has had experience of buying refurbs?   do you consider them good value,   any issues,  battery life still good,  etc?
secondly,  has anyone used laptops direct?   if so,  any good?     i have also seen the same refurb laptop on ebay too.

I bought the laptop I'm currently using about a year ago from Laptop Outlet. No issues at all so far.

The only thing (generally for all refurbished products) is to make sure you know what grade you're getting. Some use A/B/C ratings, others are more descriptive (New/Like New/Very Good... Poor).
