Dominik Eulberg is the world’s only techno park ranger, dividing his time between birdwatching expeditions and churning out a brand of minimal techno that combines bubbling melodies, trancey builds and the occasional hands-in-the-air breakdown. Eulberg’s previous longplayers Flora and Fauna and Heimische Gefilde were noted for both their rave element and their wildlife samples, while his latest album Bionik on Sven Vath’s Cocoon label is ten tracks of crowdpleasing techno, each named after a scientific phenomenon. The album also comes with helpful explanatory liner notes penned by Professor Eulberg, so whether raving or hitting the books is your bag, Bionik is textbook stuff.
