Train ticket savings

It pays to know your TOC's! If a journey is covered by two or more Train Operating Companies it is cheaper to book two tickets, one for each TOC involved. eg:
A Day Return Ormskirk - Wrexham £11.00
Ormskirk - Bidston (Merseyrail) £ 4.20
Bidston - Wrexham (Arriva Trains Wales) £ 5.10
Total £ 9.30
Both tickets can be obtained from the departure station on the day of travel but discretion should be used (wait till the queue's gone!)
