It's early afternoon here, after an early morning downpour the day turned out hot, too hot for sitting out long. Two nephews with two young children left early for a hospital appointment, the two older ones went to school which left the eldest boy in bed and his brother sitting quietly on his iPad. Peace reigned! 😀
I'm holed up in my cabin, using and enjoying the verandas and the occasional glass of chilled wine. We're waiting for the arrival of nephew three who is driving up from the Gold Coast airport with his girlfriend. A lively dinner seems on the cards.I hope that everyone is doing fine. Happy Monday to all.12 -
Morning All
No bank holiday here so I'm off to work.
Yesterday I did ......... nothing! Sat outside most of the day reading and enjoying the warmth.
Hope you all have a good day. Take care. XX10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. It sounds as though you are in for a riotous evening! Have fun!
No plans in store for today. Middle DGD still in bed where she probably will be for a while yet! Yesterday we had an unexpected burst of really hot sunshine and I sat out reading whilst DGD went down home to see to the house rabbits. Bobbi Bunnykins was introduced to Honey a while back and it was daggers (claws!) drawn for quite a few weeks, so one had to live in the dining room and the other in the lounge. They were introduced gradually, under constant supervision, and at last there is a truce and they can now share the same room!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and fed up. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all. Woke up at a silly early time. Sister will be coming today, too much to do yesterday apparently, so today will be mad rushing when she does get here and probably fraying tempers. I'd better think of something to make for supper that's simple and inoffensive. Did my clothes packing yesterday and then thought for a bit and removed some of it, and then removed some of the tools too. Have to do some online stuff today and print off some stuff before I forget so that's my morning jobs along with go and get some more tuna for the cats. And put some water/chemicals in the portable toilet. Then probably either rush doing things or spend time worrying abotu what I haven't done/bought.packed....:)Rosy, I think weenancy has it right
Gers, enjoy another addition to the gathering! Snoozer, weird how that happens, it just slides into no communication almost by accident. Ruby, hope the reboil did the trick. Nels, hope the chill fixed a bit of stress. camelot, no bank holiday?!! Noooo!!! For those with a bank holiday, enjoy doing whatever it is you'll be doing, for those without, commiserations your turn will come....Take care all, hope it's sunny for you all.

Morning everyone Gers enjoy the peace while you can I think you are in for a lively night Taff enjoy your time away but keep us up to date with what you up to and some pics would be nice .nothing happening here just enjoying my last day of relaxing before I’m back to work tomorrow my first thought this morning was only 18 months to go talk about wishing your life away I must admit I’m finding it harder but I’m determined I’m not killing myself when I go back it’s heavy work and I’ve really needed time off hubby has had word we think they might be telling him when he gets his other new knee if it is I will take some time off then last time I felt like I had claimed a mountain I was up and down stairs that many times and at work at the same time and we are definitely going away next year probably Northumberland with the dog but I want to be away I’ve spent this week doing housework laying paving slabs and backwards and forwards to the tip getting rid of kitchen cupboards ready for my new one to be put in all been done in my own time but it’s still been done .Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Hi everyone,
Gers, enjoy your meal.
-taff, have a good trip. I think the distance between my siblings is more a result of my parents never making any effort to bring us all together. We were left very much to our own devices growing up (I used to read all the time, I got most of my ideas of family life and love from books) and later we had no family gatherings at Christmas and so on. I resolved to make sure my own children had as close a relationship as possible, hopefully I succeeded.
Today, it's supposed to be a bit cooler which will be a welcome change. The lawn is looking a lot greener after last week's rain but if it stays dry again it will soon deteriorate again. We really need to get out there and do some tidying. Steve washed all the bedding yesterday and replaced it on the beds so all is ready for when the family get home. I shall give our bedroom some love today as well as doing some sewing on the special quilt I am making for Nathaniel.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning everyone and good afternoon to Gers
Snoozer - sorry to hear your sad news.
I had a really lovely day with little one at Alnwick Gardens on Saturday - the sun shone all day. She got absolutely soaked and at one point was just lying in a puddle! It must be about 8 years since I was there and the garden are absolutely beautiful. A lovely addition is an orchard which has wooden swing seats - there must be about 50 - where you can sit and swing gently amongst the trees. Little one was quite overawed by it and kept saying 'isn't it beautiful granny.'
She was such a good girl all day - I did think she would fall asleep on the bus on our way home as it's about 50 minutes - but no she chatted all the way!
Lovely putting her to bed on Saturday night with no oxygen - it must feel so nice for her. Though I woke at 5.30 on Sunday morning thinking 'oh no the oxygen's gone off is she ok' to realise it wasn't actually on.
Gers I love your descriptions of being with children...it's a good job you have your own space to escape to.
Little Trixie kitten is being very good - she's eating and drinking and using her litter tray. She's still spending a lot of time safely tucked behind the sofa but is slowly getting braver - little one sat cuddling her yesterday wrapped in a blanket while I read stories. She's quite nervous of her sharp little claws and suggested we could get her some little socks!
Well I'd better go. I have ironing to do this morning and should hoover - though that will have to be quick so I don't traumatise little kitten.
Then I'm planning on having a lazy afternoon.
Hope everyone has a good day x12 -
Morning all, pleasant enough day here but cooler. Pooch has had her walk across the road in the little wood and been treated to a few blackberries. One of our previous dogs used to pick them off the bushes himself.Still plenty left but I don't want to be greedy, then again I don't want them to just spoil.Yes Taff, nice thought of @weenancyinamerica-' happiness hangover'- I like it. I certainly did have a good birthday, thanks all if you didn't see my late post last night
When are you off on your road trip ? have a good time & safe travels!
Tea last night was a pie bought from the FoodFestival- pork, cider and apple, very tasty,- my low carb diet had a night off!Hugs to all in need of one, & Happy Bank holiday apart from Camelot, you just have a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
Nice bright day here but there is a chill in the air, I woke in the night cold and got under a light blanket for the first time for months.
We had a nice time at the beer festival yesterday, OH and DD tried a few beers I stuck to G & T as I dont like beer, we got given a free beer glass though
Onto today I need to clean my car out as I have three clients tomorrow and we are going out for the day. the car is not too bad but there is quite a lot of dog hair in there. I am having a bit of trouble with one clients mum, my SL worker gave my mobile no to the client who has passed it onto his mum, she phoned me last week after I had him for the day and yesterday I got three calls while we were at the pub having our meal, I ignored them and am waiting to see if she phones today and then I will block her, she does this a lot apparently and I was told she would not be given my number but the SL worker forgot this and gave it to her anyway, she did this to his previous carer and it became quite obsessive so I need to knock this on the head !
Might do a bbq for dinner as its nice as easy and we have stuff in for one, need to reboil the chutney today too as I did not get round to it yesterday.
Taff have a great trip, when are you off ? and where are you going / doing ?
Have good days all xxx

Hello all, the sun is shining once more, although I've noticed that Autumny smell in the air lately, I love Autumn time, probably my fav time of the year.
Yesterday went well with Dad, he went home with extra dinners and sporting a new haircut, although he left just after tea as he was very tired.
Today we will visit the van as Mr Fix It has some work to do as he broke a locker lock 🤨 I shall wash the floor and put the carpets back down, we shouldn't be long but I'll take a flask and biscuits, you never know we might get waylaid by some other 'vanner. This afternoon the garden needs my attention, either more weeding or lawn cutting. I am trying to persuade himself to help me put in a small wildlife pond for next year as we'll have to take up some big heavy paving slabs and I can't do it by myself. Wish me luck with that 😁
Take care all, enjoy the day if you can, especially Camelot who will be beavering away. Is Bella on holiday ? I haven't seen her posting for a while nor Yorkslass, Poppy or Wicked lady etc..
nan xx
