LGPS ill health - query

I achieved Tier 1 Ill Health retitrement from my local authority job (LGPS pension) - almost 6 years ago and now, money is getting tight
Is there anything in the rules to stop me from getting a part time job / working fromm home, to help with the increasing living costs ?

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Inside Local Government with or without rejoining LGPS.  Or entirely separate job for another organisation?

No, no rules at all.  Your LGPS pension was awarded on the grounds that you were deemed to be unfit to carry out the duties of your job at that time, not that you were/are permanently unfit to carry out any work at all.

In theory, you could return to Local Government, to a totally different job than your old one.

In practice, the recruiters will take your current state of health into account before offering you a job and thus pension fund membership.......

If you were to be re-employed in Local Government, and your health deteriorated to the extent that you couldn't do your new job, then you wouldn't get another ill health retirement.  You would only be able to take your new LGPS pension on normal retirement terms - ie, no enhancement for ill health, regardless of how serious, and with full reductions for early payment (before SPA).

If I did get another job in local authority would my IHP continue to be paid then?
