Where can I buy a good quality down jacket/ coat for a lady?

Options
I would like to invest in a nice down jacket (is goose down the best?) of some sort - have felt the cold lately!!

I saw one in Millets that was a North Face jacket but it didn't seem too great and was priced at about £145, which seems a huge amount for what you were getting!

Has anyone tried the coats from Lands End for example or can recommend any other places to try?

I would rather pay a little more for better quality - if indeed it is better quality.

Thanks for any help!!:T

  • Try these people. Ive used them in the past with no probs. Search for 'down' then select women and you'll find a few ladies jackets.

    Cash ISA rate 6.5% fixed for 2 years. Mortgage rate 0.75% = 5.75% profit on £75K = £4500 per year:j

  • Hi. i would try ALPKIT.com. It makes its own stuff and has a good following. My mum bought stuff from lands end a couple of weeks ago, good service and quidco as well. Hope this helps.
  • There was a Berghaus 3 in 1 posted on here and hotukdeals last week from this place:

Try http://www.snugpak.com/20_outdoors/22_01_vapouractive.htm Excellent lightweight quality outdoor wear. They make clothing for the military, have used them for years and all jackets I have purchased for my family have been top quality. I am still wearing a jacket purchased over 10 years ago I use it for hill walking and when the weather is exceptionally cold,, the lightest and warmest jacket that I have ever purchased.
  • Many thanks for all of these great suggestions - I will look into all the options and see what they come up with - maybe I will wait until after Xmas to see if there are any sales on these websites too.

It is certainly "down coat" weather out there today though!!! Brrr!
  • LL Bean are great! I swear by them. x
