Praise where it's due

Hi,

I sent off a completed BR19 state pension forecast request form (paper version) in my role as an Appointee on the 9th August '22, and received the reply letter (dated 17th August) on the 24th.

I call that pretty good going!     Especially for a government department   :)

I paid 4 years of voluntary Class 3 NI contributions, in two instalments, then applied for my State pension on-line 4 months before my birthday.  Everything was dealt with smoothly, and my State pension was paid correctly and on time.
Nothing but praise from me, but it tends to be only the ones who have problems who hit the keyboard.

Following your post as I'm getting close to the 4 month mark myself I just looked at the online claim pages.

On the front page it says "If you have not received an invitation letter, but you are within 4 months of reaching your State Pension age you can still make a claim" but when you click through to next page you get "If you do not have your letter and you’ll reach State Pension age in the next 3 months, you can request an invitation code.".   Glad to see consistency on their site...

Did you have to request an invitation code before you could complete the claim and, if so, were you able to do it more than 3 months ahead of pension date despite what second page says ?

    Thanks
