    Wouldn't the debris in the water bung up a 30mm pipe quite quickly? My mind is thinking some kind of small water wheel that could auto raise and lower (using floats?) with the stream's depth and would allow debris to pass.

    Haha yes it certainly would.
    Well spotted, I missed a zero.
    Jeeze, going from 1000mm to 30mm would be something,  I was thinking a 3 to 1 reduction which would increase the speed.
    I even read it after posting and still didn't spot the mistake, thanks for pointing it out 👍
