Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, dry underfoot, air is getting warm again, was very warm yesterday afteroon.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was herbed chicken with rice, new potatoes and salad.
Day off today but working tomorrow, but working short week this coming week, and then it's Bank holiday the following so a couple of short weeks.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
It's a bit brighter this morning, not bright enough to risk putting out any washing though! We had some biblical rain last night along with some long rumbles of thunder. Definitely a lot cooler now, seems like summer has left us already.
Went to see the little one yesterday, she's better but still has very heavy eyes and is sleeping a lot. It's not like her to want to stay indoors.
Happy new job day Ruby, must be such a relief to be away from your workplace.
Congratulations to the young ones with fantastic results, hope they celebrate in style.
Well done on your new job Coxy, sounds busy.
Don't forget the chargers Gers!
Friday already, this week has flown in - only 5 weeks until we have another wee holiday!
Take care. XX11 -
Morning folks. Not quite biblical rain here last night but more than enough, and it turned rather cold too. My day was spent faffing around a lot. Firstly I stripped the spare bed and took all the pillows and sheet to the tip. It hasn't been slept in since 2018 so I had slight heebeejees about it. The bed is going to be removed too, the chap up the hill will do it early next week. After my efforts 😀 I rewarded myself on the way home with a delicious bacon and egg roll.Today I'm off down the east of the peninsula for hair colour and cut. I'd hoped for a sunny drive but already have spots of rain on the bedroom window. I've been watching the swallows gather on my telephone wire then trying to pick small insects off the stone walls.Camelot- I've plenty of chargers, two power banks and two adapters. 😂 Sorry that your little one is still poorly.
Theres so much good news here - new jobs, new projects and great exam results so congratulations all round. It's also good that Nelski's mum is improving.DP1 - I searched for your unusual hotel, it looks charming and peaceful. Well found.I hope that everyone is doing well, happy Friday to all.12 -
Hi everyone,
I've been absent again, we have been so busy getting L and B's house ready, I only managed to read back last night, so...
I'm sorry to hear about Sallylab Mehefin.
Nelski, my best wishes for a speedy recovery for mum.
Congratulations to Coxy's son and TA's and Jackie's grandchildren on their A level results, I can't begin to think about how hard it must have been for them over the last couple of years.
Also congrats on the new role Coxy.
Gers, it's getting so close now, I hope you have safe travels.
We got home yesterday after being delayed because I have lost my purse. We have been through everything with a fine tooth comb with no joy so now I am going through the motions of replacing everything in there. It means I will have to get a photo driving licence but that's about the worst of it apart from inconvenience. I only had £8 cash in there and no-one had used the cards so it wasn't stolen.
It's cool atm and has obviously rained during the night thank goodness.
Have a good day.

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It's fine and sunny here, after a grey day yesterday.I've got a little spaniel beside me, Dd's dog is staying until Monday, so I'll be taking him out soon.Enjoy your new job Ruby, your last one sounded pretty grim, and Coxy, hope your new job works out well.Sorry to see that your dgd is still not 100% Camelot, hope she soon picks up.Not a lot happening today, I've got a hospital appointment for a bone scan, and I'll visit a friend tonight.Hope everyone has a good Friday, take care folks.12

Morning all and thanks for the thread @nmlc,
Cooler here in Kent today and a teeny bit of moisture in the air. I'm hoping to get some washing done but will leave it until later as it's set to be sunny this afternoon.
DH and I finished the hallway wood painting last night - spindles, picture rail, skirting, architraves and 13, yes 13 panelled doors (both sides) x 3 coats. We are having a much-needed night off from DIY tonight. Ceilings will be painted by DH tomorrow and then we're off to choose a wall colour to match the wallpaper we have for the feature wall.
Dinner tonight will be maple-glazed pork loins with new potatoes, carrots and peas. I'm going to treat myself to a rum and pep$i max after, given it's the weekend!
Hope DMum is settled @Nelski and you were able to visit her, poor love.
Wishing @camelot1001's DGD well, hope she's brighter today.
Let us know how it goes with work @ruby_eskimo
Have a good day everyone and hugs to the poorlies,
Coxy

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. We have the sun back this morning and it promises to be a nice day so the towels and bath mats will get washed and pegged out. I felt like summer had left us too over the last couple of days CAMELOT but it's forecast to be a bit warmer next week. If we can believe that!
I have the excitement of the Friday Tidy today with a dust and vac up and down. Heat stopped play a bit last Friday and the upstairs didn't get done. This afternoon I need to pot on the 5p basil seeds I got reduced from Wilko. I scattered a few in a big pot of compost on the kitchen window sill and I can't believe how quickly they have grown in just a few weeks. So small plant pots are at the ready to pot them on.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and fed up. IZZIE in case you are too busy to post in the morning, I hope all goes well for the wedding. Fingers crossed for a nice sunny day. Take care all and be safe.xx

Morning everyone
We had rain through the night but nice blue sky this morning
I enjoyed The Railway Children yesterday - though it was a bit short - I could have happily watched for another half hour.
Gers - I found the hotel a couple of years ago and decided next time I went to York I'd stay there - it looks really interesting.
Izzy - hope tomorrow goes perfectly for you all
I'm going down to mam and dads this morning to do his banking and need to pop to the shop for a few things. My niece and her little boy are coming too so that will be nice as I haven't seen them for a bit. I'd offered to have him on Saturday but he has a party to go to and then they're off on holiday on Monday.
I may get some more of my fence painted later - I did have and didn't finish - it needs done before I go back to work.
Better get moving. Hope everyone has a good day today x

Morning all! Sunny so the washing machine will be doing double duty this morning, blacks and colours, OH has been wearing his hawaiian shirts to work this week so plenty of colours.. then shower, get my hair cut, go to the bank and go to the opticians about my new contacts after they changed them. Sold my car yesterday to a really nice bloke with a very in charge partner, also very nice but you could see who wore the trousers. Gave them some money off because she asked so nicely and because I liked them. So that's one weight off the mind. There is a bot of last minute shopping to do so I might try and get some of that in today, big bottles of water, little DIY bits, that kind of thing. I don't want to be rushing about next weekend like a blue rear ended fly as my mother used to say. I'm beginning to see why they needed a van, not a car...Coxy, OK, now you've given away you live in a mansion..
and well done to your son! Jackie, same to your Gs's! TA, and your GD! Mega achievement in light of the last two years. Rosy, I think the sewing part of the shirring is fine, it's the winding the bobbin and making sure the tension is loose enough.Last time I did that I knkcered the bobbin casing..[oops] And I love a scotch egg, especially homemade ones, so much crunchier...Izzy, it's time for a go stop now isn't it not a go slow? Have a great day tomorrow, you'll likely be off by the time I get up...Scarlet, hope your scan goes well. Nels, good news, hope they can perk her up..Ruby, enjoy your planning day..Take care all, waves to the on holiday, and cwtches for anyone who needs one...
