Hello.
I have found a new job and plan to hand in my notice on Friday the 26th of August. However, my line Manager will be away from Wednesday the 24th of August. I need the hand in notice date to be the 26th of August as I start my new position on the 26th of September.
Can you provide any suggestions on what I can do?
Thank you in advance.

You do not need to give exact four weeks/one month you could easily hand it in on Monday 22 with your chosen leaving date giving them time to deal with it before going away.0

For a start, if your notice is one calendar month and you want to start your new job on 26 September, your notice needs to run to no later than 25 September and therefore has to be with your current employer by 25 August. That is because notice period runs from the day after it is received.
Unless your contract of employment specifies your notice has to be in writing to your immediate manager, then you could deliver the notice to a more senior manager or HR. However, I would be inclined to hand in my notice towards the end of 24 August, specifying your last day of employment as 25 September.
Depending on how your employer calculates leaving pay, it might make no difference to your pay whether your last working day was even Friday, 23 September. Do you normally work on Saturdays and Sundays?

Also, if you do deliver on a day your immediate manager is out, email a copy to HR or to your manager's manager,All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0
