Constant underpayment letters

Hello all.

For the past 5 years or so I constantly get letters saying my tax has been underpaid. This has resulted in never having had my full allowance and having to constantly make repayments to HMRC. What I can’t get my round is that I’m PAYE and always have been; any second/third jobs have all been D0 taxed as well. Pulling my hair out about this now as they don’t seem to ever offer from which employment they’ve calculated an underpayment.
Any helpful suggestions?
(Definitely legit HMRC btw)

  • Realistically the only way you will ever understand what has happened is to go through each tax year involved one by one and see what the tax owed is for each separate year.

Have you had a calculation (P800 or PA302) yet for 2021:22 and if so what was the end amount owed on that?

Is there an underpayment being collected through your current 2022:23 tax code and if so how much is the underpayment (not the tax code deduction)?
