I signed up for the AOL PS3 as I am already with aol but out of contract. I signed up on the 7th Dec and haven't received the PS3 yet - getting a bit twitchy as I was really hoping to surprise DH with it on Xmas day. They do say that it is guaranteed for christmas if you sign up before 5pm today and the guy I spoke to at Customer services assured me it will arrive. I really hope he's right!!
  • I applied for this on Sunday and the PS3 came today! (before any of the AOL stuff)

Thing is I don't actually want it.

I'm hoping to raffle it for 60 x £5 tickets at work - I'll keep £200 (for the Wii I actually want) and am donating the remaining £100 to a domestic violence charity we work with @ work (along with my PS1 and 50 games).

Unfortunately as I work for the police I'm having to get legal services to check it out before I can do it and prob won't be able to hand the prize over before Chrimmy.

But a £5 stake for a 60-1 shot of getting a £300 prize, what do you think - will people be tempted?

    I wouldnt be!

Also, why apply for it when you didnt want it? you have tied yourself into a 24 month contract for your broadband and you'll probably find that by the end of that contract broadband prices have come down and speeds increased.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
  • Well we needed the wireless anyhoo, and I've never had a problem with AOL.

I quite fancied a free console, it's just the games on the PS3 seem to be rather huge sprawling rpg type affairs and I'm an old school Tomb Raider/Sonic kind gal

If thats the case you'll be disappointed with the wii!

You'll find the novelty soon wears off and your best bet will be to get a copy of Tomb raider for the gamecube and a gamecube controller to put in your wii.
