NatWest Mortgage Extension - timescales

Hi all!

Has anyone applied for a mortgage extension with NatWest recently? Just wondering what timelines we can expect in waiting for confirmation/decline?

Our mortgage expires on 7th September and our vendors solicitor has dragged out the process to the point she’s not chased enquiries and we are now very worried that the house will fall through. We applied for a 4 week extension on the 8th, so just wondering when we might hear back as it may give us some peace of mind.

@hpsauce86 NatWest are a bit of a s*itshow at the moment but when I last did an offer extension for a client (about a month ago) it took around a week.

Unless your circumstances have changed materially, there's really no reason to worry about a decline, it's a fairly routine process.

Thanks as always! Yeah I was hoping about a week. We just don’t want to assume it’ll be ok considering the rates have gone up 3 times since we got our decision through.

Our circumstances haven’t changed in the slightest, just don’t want to hedge our bets on it (or give the vendors solicitor any more excuses for dragging one final enquiry out longer than we need to, she’s very much taken us for a ride already!)

    thanks again!
