What Small Things Will You Do This Week?? 15/08/22

Morning folks
@DawnW - fingers cross for the elec that it was a one-off. We had a similar thing happen where the fan went off in the night. Further investigation showed that it was the toaster that tripped the elec! We got rid of the toaster and have used the grill ever since. Although this possibly not very economic with electricity? But we only use it a couple of times a week, and rarely for sliced bread.
Things ticking along here. I have wangled 2 days off at the end of the week as I'm a bit twitchy and need a short break from work.
Interesting re the broadband router - I am trying to remember to turn it off at night. (New habit for this week, failing miserably so far!)
Today's MSE things:
B/L from stores. D tbd
Washing outside to dry. Some rain here but going to give it a chance. Should be drier later.
WFH so no petrol spend
OH doing some teaching from home
Broach subject of dropping gym membership to 3 days with OH. He will say no though but might spur him to go more often.
Spendy things:
None? Unless I book the train ticket to my parents' for next weekend.
Other things:
OH to do housework
I will clean the small bathroom properly after OH does it (he doesn't dust anything, clean the windows/mirror, the shower tray, or the floor)
Have a good one all

ed: oh my word, the post function has gone mad. Accidentally added a quote and now it won't let me delete or post.

Morning all!
"Interesting" observation this morning... last week I turned our bathroom sink mixer tap to the coldest position and it hasn't moved! Previously it was set to be in the middle (as most aesthetically pleasing!) but obviously this means it would have kept triggering the boiler even where it was just turned on for a few seconds!
Today I have/will:- Check banks
- Make lunch to take to work
- Drive on eco mode
- Update spreadsheet
- Read MSE email
- Text netball team re subs for tomorrow
- Netball tonight but friend is paying (she asked me to sub for her team but I said I couldn't afford but she's lovely and said she would pay!)
- Dinner from stores
- Turn oven off at the wall once done
- Crochet in front of the TV - started on the next present last night!
Twigs
Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,435.00
Total paid off - £10,165.89 (65% paid off)3 -
HA! Finally fixed the box!
I was trying to say... @twiggy86 - you saying netball reminded me. On the radio they were describing a wildfire near here and said it was the size of 2 netball courts
like anyone has any concept of the size of a netball court! LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.311 -
Afternoon all
The big fat frog that lives in the strawberry box in the yard decided to join us in the kitchen for breakfast this morning, much to the dog's consternation
Froggy didn't seem at all bothered by the dog's barking (he only barks, never tries to bite anything, even flies on the odd occasion he manages to find one he can reach) I picked him up gently and popped him back outside. Hopefully he will find some slugs to eat!Today's jobs:Walked dog after he had got over his shock at the frog's cheek
Did the shopping, spent nearly £80, in Lidls
I had almost or totally run out of a few items, plus I bought a free range chicken and a few bits for the food bank, but still! Looked at the veg boxes but decided to give them a miss today. I did pick up a pack of rolls and one of bagels for 20p each though. Had a struggle to get stuff that needed to be frozen into the freezer
And I have loads of veg and fruit that will need to go in there.Picked strawberries, raspberries, beans and tomatoes. Need to cut some more red chillis.I have the chicken that I bought this morning in the oven, with a tray of tomatoes roasting with some olive oil and garlic on the lower shelf. The chicken will do for meals for a few days, and the tomatoes will become roasted tomato sauce, which will have to fit in the freezer somehow. This afternoon I need to sort out the fridge and larder, maybe the freezers as well. And I ought to check the banks, and update my spreadsheet.3 -
