Best detangling brush and spray for young children

My twin granddaughters age six are coming to stay.  They have long hair which knots every day.  At home mum uses a Mason Pearson brush and L’Oréal detangling  spray, works from ends of hair upwards in sections  and plaits hair at night. Am not sure that the spray doesn’t make their hair a bit dry.
was looking at Amazon and people seem to like the make ‘Wet Brush’ and the Child Farm detangle spray seems popular.
Any suggestions as what to invest in would be appreciated

I use a wet brush whilst conditioner in in the hair in the shower then rinse.  No detangle spray required.
