Minimum wage for an apprentice - completed 1st year, 18.
so much conflicting info on this! Some sites say £4.81 others say £6.83 if first year completed!
If it’s more and the employer hasn’t increased the wage what action should we take?

As first year has been completed and apprentice is 18 National minimum wages apply. If this is not the case take it up with the apprenticeship provider, whoever oversees the apprentice.1

Thanks. Yeah I looked at the government site but I can’t see any references to 18 after first year completed!

£4.81 for an 18 year old.
This is a very reputable site,

See National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage rates - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
The £6.83 only comes into play if they are 19 years old and have completed their first year. Otherwise it's the £4.81.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661 -
Thanks. so not national min wage?0

Because it doesn't make any difference if your first year is completed until you are 19. The site quoted shows the rate for all 16-18 year olds.wongy_3 said:Thanks. Yeah I looked at the government site but I can’t see any references to 18 after first year completed!
