Problems with Evri (formerly Hermes) food deliveries

I ordered airdried pork snacks and chicken snacks from Protermars and the Evri tracking didn't work. Protermars chased and told me that the order was at the local Evri depot. Didn't get a knock on the door, text, email so I emailed Protermars on Friday and discovered that the order had been delivered to neighbours on Wednesday. 

Two weeks before, I had placed my first order with Motatos. got an email when it shipped and another same day from Evri, saying they had it. 7 days went past and the order didn't move despite inputting tracking reference. I called Motatos, who refunded me straight away and gave me a discount code. They told me that it looked like Evri had lost the order in their system. 

i wondered whether other people have had problems with Evri (especially in Kent) and whether there are food purveyors that use Evri, which I should avoid ?

Evri changed their name from Hermes to try and shake their awful reputation, so it doesn't surprise me that they gave your food to someone else. Were you able to collect it from your neighbour?

Never have a problem with Evri here in Surrey, we have 2 great local delivery drivers. Yodel on the other hand !

Yes, my husband was able to collect the boxes, thankfully. Like husband, the guy next door works from home.

Only had experience with them once and it was an EBay delivery not food they delivered at 7:45pm on a Saturday evening which surprised me as the tracking they provided didn’t change from dispatched 6 days before but 2 minutes after I got it it changed to delivered.
