Thank you for your reply, @Silvertabby. The letter says "Benefits payable from <date>", where the date is when I am going to be 60. Not sure what the implications and protections of this may or may not be!

Note: If you have membership followed by deferment, followed by subsequent membership, all added together, then that period of deferment doesn't count towards R85.1 -
Thank you.It seems like a big decision but I'm just going to take the standard option as it seems there's a lot of swings and roundabouts, mainly influenced by lifespan which, at the moment, is information that is not usually easily calculated!1
