Solar panel install, is this a good price for Manchester ?

Do you have any other out buildings that you could install more panels, or perhaps a sunny part of the garden where you could install some ground mounted panels? I ask because I agree with Mart that you should apply for more than 3.68kw and include these potential panels in the application. If you can't possibly fit any more panels anywhere then just apply for the 5.6kw.
The flip side is that if the DNO is inundated with requests for solar, it may take some time to get back to you with approval or they may try and hit you with a charge to 'strengthen the grid' to allow you more than the 3600. As we're well into Summer now, you might not get approval and installation until winter and will have to wait for next year before you start hitting more than the 3600w limit anyway.

Sorry for not responding earlier to all the replies, but life got in the way :-)
@Martyn1981 , thank you for taking the time to write such a lengthy reply. I will try and answer your points
"but 40m2 roof is pretty big .... perhaps 18 panels might fit?" TBH I never even thought about making the system bigger. I know if I was to add panels right from the start then the cost sort of becomes "negligible" I only have to pay for the 4 extra panels, not the scaffolders or manpower again ................ I will certainly consider it
"considering get a BEV in the future", not unless they can produce a motorbike than can make me smile for around £5000 ;-)
"installing a modern aircon unit" ... let me walk before I run
"our installer can ask the DNO" .... have asked about this, if it is free, then it is a no brainer, but if it costs £1000s then I don't know
"But, 5.6kWp (14x400Wp) is oversized for a 3.68kW inverter" .... is it not the case that the inverter can produce 5.6kw, 3.6 which goes to the grid and the remainder goes to topping up my batteries for eh night time useage?
"I did wonder, given the pitch if it was a bungalow", don't tell my house but is slightly strange. On this estate od large detatches the roofs are built quite shallow, you cannot stand up in the loft :-(
Alnat1 as they say everyday is a school day, I will need to work out the cost of one of these DNOs
Mikeyboy01443 "Just wondering why they arent adding a solax battery to the quote, seeing as they have quoted a solax inverter? Perhaps due to stock issues?" a valid question, when I spoke to the sales guy he said battery stock is a problem at the moment but he can get one of these ................ if they are no good I will tell him to get me a better one
Rolandtheroadie, so you think the price sounds quite reasonable (or at least I am not being taken to the cleaners)
ccbrowning , thanks for taking the time to reassure me :-)
Pile_o_stone , I will only be able to put the panels on the roof of my house

Comparing it to mines, yes.
You're getting more (extra three panels and the Boost) for just a little above my quote.
Unless we're both being taken to the cleaners.

@Martyn1981
I believe the fee for making a formal application would be a couple of hundred pounds (varies with different DNOs).

However, there's every chance that an experienced local installer would be able to make an informal enquiry through his own contacts.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq51
