Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC, enjoy your days off. It's already warm here, going to be another hot day. We weren't out yesterday, DD didn't go to the splash pad in the park with the Dgc's,, she had something else arranged.I just did a bit of housework, and sat in the shade for a while. It'll probably be more of the same today.Hope everyone is coping with the heat, it's a bit overpowering at times.Take care folks.11

Morning all. There may be another lovely day ahead, just now it's still cool and dull. Mind you, that moon last night was magnificent.Yesterday I did a couple of washes, one white load and a colours one. I now do both at 30°, the only difference is that I add a tiny drop of 'blue' to the rinse water of the whites. That and the blazing sunshine made them dazzling. I've only just realised how Daz got its name. 😀I had a lovely chat with a passing tourist, took the very dead hydrangea branches to the garden waste tip and then sat in the garden. When back inside I ordered a few bits for my holiday. One is a very small photo printer (not much bigger than my phone) which prints instantly from an app. It'll be great for the bunch of young cousins who are all meeting up in Oz. My estimate of numbers is between six and nine children (one set may not appear) and 11 adults. 😱 I'll be the only one staying the whole time, others come later / leave earlier. My SIL has had a small cabin built on the very edge of their land for me so I can escape the melee. 😂For now I'm enjoying the cool air. I managed to finish off cutting the back grass last night so all that needs taken to the tip. Today is the 37th birthday of my youngest nephew. I've just been looking at the photos of when I flew across for his surprise 30th birthday party - time is simply flying past.Anyway...I hope that everyone is doing well. Welcome back Bella! Happy Thursday to all.10

Morning All
Gloriously sunny this morning, lovely and fresh at the moment but set to be another hot day I think. I have the parasol out, had to sit under it yesterday whilst I was reading.
I took the little one to a place in Glasgow yesterday that has activities on, she got some breakfast (second one) and played for a while. The whole group then went to the park to play games and make a tie die T shirt, great morning out all for free. Lovely to see her making friends to play with and joining in. They were playing the bear and the honeypot, when it was her turn she took the honeypot and set off across the park instead of running round the circle!
Apart from tidying the shed I just sat and read yesterday afternoon, it was too hot to do anything else.
Must visit the allotment this morning and post a parcel for DD, apart from that nothing planned.
Hope you're all well, take care. XX10 -

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. The sun feels very hot already through the front windows, despite the blinds. I don't think anything too arduous will be tackled today.
Our day out yesterday was enjoyable but hot! As usual it was Skipton which was very busy. Some of the market stalls were doing a roaring trade which was lovely to see. Our favourite eatery let us down a bit as that too was busy and the food not up to it's usual standard. I had scampi which was fine but the other two left quite a bit of their choices. The shop that sells all the Italian stuff had an offer of 20% off for cash payments for some reason but it tempted us in. So many lovely things and despite my good intentions I succumbed to a lovely long coral top which went perfectly with the white trousers I had on.
Today is day 3 of eating out - I could get used to this! It's eldest DGD's 18th birthday and she plumped for a meal at the lovely Italian restaurant in town rather than a big party. So that is all booked for tonight for 55 people at the last count, friends and family! The restaurant are not taking bookings from any other people so we have it all to ourselves. DD is going down late afternoon to decorate the place with banners, balloons etc. It promises to be a good night.
I might tackle the kitchen and bathroom this morning before the sun gets round the back and that will be my lot I think. It will be far too hot for sitting out in so it will probably be some reading indoors until it's time to get my glad rags on!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and fed up. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning everyone,
Cool start here but set to warm up later. I am at a friends' house for drinks later but will be on the sparkling water as I'm driving. DH in Solihull today and DS2 stayed at his gf's house, so just me and the pup here. Lovely having the house to myself for a change! Dog blankets are in the washing machine and I will do a further load afterwards. I also need to hoover round as we've finished the painting upstairs now, whoohoo. We start downstairs at the weekend....can't wait....
The chicken fajitas were nice and there is some mixture left for today, so that will be lunch along with a load of salad. Dinner tonight is SW pork Szechuan with noodles.
Good to see you @bellabella - our collections were earlier this week too.
Yes @Gers time certainly races by the older you get. Frightening really. That photo printer sounds fab.
Had to laugh at little one doing a runner @camelot1001
Hugs to all those facing challenges, and have a good day all,
Coxy

Hi everyone,
TA, happy birthday to DGD, talking about time flying!
I lost yesterday to some sort of bug. We went to Cambridge to see Zog and the Flying Doctors at the theatre and I started to feel quite ill. I spent most of the rest of the day and night sleeping and feel a bit better now, although not totally, the heat doesn't help.
Steve gave me a card this morning but I didn't manage to write his, we don't normally exchange gifts and I don't feel like going out for a meal tonight. Very boring.
Crystal has been given a date for her section, the 22nd unless she starts labour before then.
Have a good day all.11 -
Morning everyone
I got home from my travels last night - I had a lovely time with DD. We visited a couple of nearby towns and spent a lot of time at the lovely outdoor pool about 10 minute by tram from her apartment as the weather was so hot...about 38 degrees most days! Some lovely lunches and teas and lots of cooling ice creams. Last weekend we got the train to a lovely little spa town just over the border into the Czech republic - the buildings were all pretty pastel colours decorated with white - and stayed in a lovely little hotel.
Airports were all fine - no long queues or delays - and I can now change planes! Was slightly worried about changing at Amsterdam as it is so big - but no problems at all - I was rather pleased with myself! Only problem was when I got back to Newcastle yesterday - it should be a short walk to the metro to the station to catch the train home. But the Metro wasn't running so you had to catch a bus instead - no one around to help or give directions. Eventually found the bus stop with another couple and waited almost an hour before giving up and sharing a taxi with some others. Missed my train so ended up getting home a couple of hours later than I should have done. I will be sending a complaining email later.
So down to mam and dads once I get dressed - I've done a Covid test so I'm fine to go. Then a day of pottering, putting a big shop away when it's delivered and sitting in the sun. DD and little one are in hospital as her specialist is doing tests to do with blood sugar - hopefully will get out today so I should see them later.
Hope everyone has a good day - I'll read back and catch up at some point.11 -
