my mum died last year and we advised everyone we should . We have received an email today from her Teachers pension that they overpaid by £132 and want it back . I know state pension can’t enforce this but can Teachers Pension ? Thank you

I'm very sorry for your loss @Kaybee2306.

I've moved this post to the Pensions board where it has a better chance of getting some useful answers.

    Best wishes,

Yes.  The executor of the estate should have notified the Teachers Pension scheme of the date of death and any overpayment should be returned.   The loophole for the state pension does not apply here.

  • Yes the estate owes the pension so whoever settled up the estate will need to pay it back.
